I hope this message finds you well.

It is my privilege to share that at the DFRW Convention in Dover this past Saturday, Barbara Kilby was awarded the American Patriot Award by the National Federation of Republican Women. This distinguished honor is presented to individuals who exemplify unwavering devotion to our nation’s principles, a strong commitment to civic duty, and exceptional service to their community.

Barbara’s contributions to the Sussex County Republican Headquarters have embodied these ideals with clarity and conviction. Through her leadership in the headquarters store, her coordination and mentoring of volunteers, and her dedication to expanding our community outreach, she has strengthened not only our operations but our sense of shared purpose. Her work has helped build a more engaged, connected, and service-driven Republican community here in Sussex County. 

We are especially proud that this award—one of national recognition—has been earned by one of our own. Sussex County has long been known for its hardworking, service-minded Republican leaders, and Barbara stands as a shining example of that tradition. Her achievement reflects the strength of our county, the spirit of our volunteers, and the impact that dedicated local leadership can have on a statewide and national stage. 

On a personal note, I am grateful not only for Barb’s service, but for the friendship, kindness, and laughter we continue to share in the day-to-day work of strengthening our party. Her presence brings both joy and steadiness to the headquarters, and I am fortunate to serve alongside her.

On behalf of the Sussex County Republican Party, we extend our deepest gratitude to Barbara and congratulate her on this well-earned recognition.

And for those who wish to thank her in person, you already know where she can be found—at the Sussex County GOP Headquarters continuing the work that earned her this honor.

WELL DONE DELAWARE!

Barbara Kilby and her husband, Shep, were instrumental in planning, purchasing and setting up the First State Freedom Store (FSFS), located in the Sussex County Republican Committee's headquarters in the county seat of Georgetown, DE. Mrs. Kilby spent countless hours and assembled an army of volunteers in this effort. The result is a store full of patriotism and sea of Americanism, highlighting pride in our United States and saluting our beloved President Trump. Everyone was welcomed to share in the project, with visitors and volunteers awash with good feelings of being an American. The FSFS helps greatly with County Republican fundraising. We are indeed fortunate to present Barbara Kilby with the NFRW/DFRW American Patriot Award.
