Fellow Delaware Republicans,
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has now formally endorsed a slate of candidates for the 2026 election cycle in our state. These endorsements mark a clear and growing effort to inject radical socialist policies into Delaware government at both the state and local levels.
At the state level, DSA has endorsed:
Kyra Hoffner for State Senate (District 14)
Larry Lambert for State Representative (District 7)
Madinah Wilson-Anton for State Representative (District 26)
Eric Morrison for State Representative (District 27)
All four are current officeholders who have accepted the DSA’s endorsement.
At the local level, the newly formed Delaware Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America has endorsed:
Coby Owens for Wilmington City Council (District 1)
Shane Darby for Wilmington City Council (District 2)
These candidates openly advocate for policies such as Medicare for All and universal government-run health care. These policies would expand government control, raise taxes, and undermine the private health care options that Delaware families rely on.
This is not mainstream Democratic politics. This is the organized advance of the Democratic Socialists of America into Delaware’s elected offices. We will not ignore it, and we will not allow it to go unanswered.
The Delaware Republican Party will continue to stand for fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, and limited government. We will contrast these radical endorsements with the practical, common-sense solutions Delawareans actually need.
I urge every Republican, independent, and concerned citizen to pay close attention to these races. The choice in 2026 is becoming clearer every day.
Sincerely,
Gene Truono
Chairman,
Delaware Republican Party
