The Real Insurrection: Democrats Hollowing Out Law, Order, and Values While We Pay the Price – Delaware Republicans Are Rising Up in 2026

January 2, 2026

Gene Truono, Chair, Delaware Republican Party

IMAGINE THE FOLLOWING SCENARIOS:

• Waking up to news of yet another violent crime in your neighborhood, only to learn the perpetrator was a repeat offender released under soft-on-crime policies championed by Democrats

• Picture struggling to pay skyrocketing grocery bills while your kids' school pushes divisive ideologies that erode trust in authority and family values

• Envision your hard-earned tax dollars funding absurd global projects abroad, all while domestic needs go unmet.

This was the reality in 2025—not random misfortune, but a calculated Democrat design to manufacture disorder, distract from core failures, and entrench power through dependency. Soft-on-crime policies, economic instability, and cultural decay are not mere oversights; they are tools. Disorder creates dependency, and dependency creates control. A stable society requires order, accountability, and a shared moral framework; the modern Democrat model undermines all three.

While families grappled with unsafe streets, crumbling finances, and eroded values, Democrats amplified distractions—prolonged gridlock, media-fueled outrage, and ideological spending—to shield their agenda from scrutiny. This isn't compassion; it's recklessness dressed up as virtue. For Delawareans enduring one-party Democrat rule, the stakes are personal: our communities, our livelihoods, and our children's futures.

CHAOS AS A TOOL

How Democrats Weaponized Distraction to Undermine Safety, Stability, and Values

Democrats strategically deployed chaos in 2025 to divert attention from policies eroding America's foundations, leaving families vulnerable and communities fractured:

• Cultural Decay as a Long-Term Strategy: Poisoning Minds and Dividing Generations: Schools, media, and entertainment have spent decades teaching younger generations to distrust authority, resent responsibility, and confuse consequences with cruelty. In 2025, test scores plummeted, linked to widespread smartphone use distracting students—researchers noted a correlation between declining reading and math scores and the rise of addictive devices. Culture wars intensified, with attacks on education as backlash from conservatives against hierarchies based on race and gender, leading to chilled discussions on race and LGBTQ issues. Instead of producing capable citizens, we're raising people trained to see victimhood as identity and accountability as oppression. When culture stops defending what's right, it inevitably starts protecting what's dangerous—envision a Delaware teen influenced by media to resent traditional values, contributing to societal rot that weakens families and communities.

• Soft-on-Crime Policies Fuel Cycles of Disorder and Fear: Bail reforms cycle repeat offenders back onto streets, while progressive prosecutors treat criminals as victims and law-abiding citizens as afterthoughts—even as perpetrators. In Democrat-led cities like Washington, D.C., cashless bail policies led to the release of violent offenders, resulting in tragic consequences, such as a New Yorker arrested six times in one year, with dozens of prior convictions, yet freed without bail. Law enforcement is demonized, morale collapses—with police forces shrinking from 4,000 to 3,200 officers in just five years in some areas—and communities pay the price with surging crime, including a 14.9% drop in murders, overshadowed by persistent aggravated assaults. At the same time, open borders overwhelm public services and erode national sovereignty, flooding neighborhoods with fentanyl and straining resources meant for citizens. Picture a Delaware parent fearing for their child's safety at school or on the streets—this isn't compassion; it's recklessness dressed up as virtue, turning blue cities into "hunting grounds for repeat criminals."

• Economic Instability by Design: Burdening Families with Uncertainty: Reckless spending and gridlock prolonged the historic government shutdown, masking inflation that hit 3.0% on a twelve-month basis by September, with core inflation stubbornly at 3.0%. Families faced higher costs for essentials—headline PCE inflation at 2.7% over the year through August—while job insecurity rose, with unemployment ticking up amid a slowdown in hiring. Consumers expected worsening financial situations, with perceptions of household finances deteriorating notably; more reported being worse off than a year ago. This engineered turmoil distracted from real threats like energy dependence and persistent inflation, hitting Delaware's working families hardest—think of the single parent skipping meals to cover rising bills, all while Democrats prioritize global agendas over domestic relief.

• These aren't failures—they're features of a system that breeds weakness, division, and dependency while punishing responsibility and strength.

DISTRACTION ENABLES CORRUPTION & WASTE

Billions Stolen While Families Suffer

Amid the noise, massive fraud and ideological spending proceeded with minimal oversight, robbing vulnerable Americans:

Minnesota Fraud Scandals

• Betraying Children and Taxpayers: Over $9 billion lost under Governor Tim Walz's watch, including $250 million diverted from child nutrition programs in the Feeding Our Future scheme, where funds bought luxury cars and homes while kids went hungry. Prosecutors charged over 78 individuals, many tied to Somali-run nonprofits, with federal probes revealing ties to SBA loans and day care fraud totaling millions more. Imagine a Minnesota mother discovering her child's meal program was a front for graft—this blue-state scandal, buried under national spectacles, exemplifies lax Democrat governance.

USAID as a Globalist Slush Fund

• Squandering American Dollars Abroad: Exposed by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), billions were funneled to partisan projects like $1.5 million for DEI initiatives in Serbia, $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru, $70,000 for a DEI musical in Ireland, and $2 million for LGBT activism in Guatemala—all while domestic crises raged. DOGE audits froze billions, uncovering decades of abuse, including hundreds of thousands to terrorism-linked nonprofits. Picture a Delaware veteran waiting for benefits while taxes fund foreign frivolities—this betrayal enriched insiders under Democrat watch.

BROADER PATTERNS

Scandals in Democrat-led cities and agencies highlight how distraction allows ethical lapses to persist, costing billions and shattering lives.

The Deeper Threat: Moral and Societal Rot That Hits Home

• Let’s be honest about the word “insurrection.” The real threat to our country isn’t a single chaotic day—it’s elected officials and activist institutions steadily hollowing out the rule of law, the Constitution, and the foundations that hold us together. This destruction doesn’t come with flags and slogans; it comes through policy, courts, and bureaucratic sabotage. We aren’t experiencing political disagreement anymore—it’s moral and societal rot. Liberalism, as practiced today, breeds weakness, division, and dependency. Americans are now paying the price for decades of silence—in rising crime victims, bankrupt families, and a generation adrift.

Silence Doesn’t Have to be Permanent: Join the Fight for Order and Accountability

• A society that wants to survive must be willing to defend order, demand accountability, and call corruption by its name—before chaos becomes permanent. Delaware conservatives are leading the charge. Our state's compact size is our advantage: focused efforts can shatter

one-party rule and redirect the government toward family security, economic strength, and moral renewal.
