On June 8th, at the Sussex County office of the Department of Elections, three incumbents filed for reelection to the Delaware House of Representatives. Joining them was a new candidate who filed to run for District 20 Representative!

We now have a full lineup of at least one Republican candidate for each Sussex County office in the 2026 election.

2 Sussex County Council Members
1 Sussex County Recorder of Deeds
1 Sussex County Register of Wills
1 Sussex County Sheriff
The deadline to file for the 2026 election is July 14, 2026.
As of today, Sussex County is expected to have a Republican Primary in District 36 and in District 41. In addition, a Republican Primary is expected state wide for Delaware's U.S. Senator.
