I agree with Governor Meyer that Delaware must move quickly to position itself for nuclear energy, including small modular reactors. Last year, I introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution 18 to establish the Delaware Nuclear Feasibility Task Force because it is clear that reliable, baseload energy must be part of our long-term energy strategy.
Nuclear power offers a stable, dependable source of electricity that strengthens our energy grid, supports economic growth, and helps protect ratepayers from rising costs. Moving forward with urgency now will help ensure Delaware is on the right track to responsibly incorporate nuclear energy and meet future demand.
