Delaware families, retirees: Protect your health care

March 23, 2026

Delaware hospitals are No. 1 in the U.S. in quality because healthcare experts work together. But opponents are risking our health care. Again.

Their new plan, Senate Bill 1, sponsored by Sen. Bryan Townsend (D) will increase costs and cut access. It will:

  • Remove experts from making decisions on healthcare services and costs.

  • Cut $413 million in healthcare services for Delaware hospitals.

  • Risk 4,000 jobs. Cutting the healthcare workforce during a national provider shortage will make it harder for you to get appointments.

  • Threaten primary care access. Targeting hospital services undermines the systems that support our primary care providers.

We already said no! In 2024, thousands of Delawareans stood together against HB 350’s millions in cuts to health care and hospital services.

Since then, we’ve worked in good faith to improve health care for everyone. SB 1 takes us backward.

Tell elected officials: You didn’t forget. Let’s protect Delaware health care together and say no on SB 1.
