"Back the Blue" Caravan

The "Back the Blue" Caravan is in its 6th year. This year it is going county-wide with three separate Caravan days covering three different North/South corridors in Sussex County.  Tuesday, May 14th is Rt. 113; Wednesday, May 15th is Rt. 1; and Thursday, May 16th is Rt. 13.  Each Caravan route will honor 7-9 law enforcement agencies.  As in years past, I ask that each vehicle bring snacks (sealed, store bought containers/packages, like power bars, cookies, variety snacks, etc.) for each agency and, most importantly, a THANK YOU NOTE for each agency.  If you have multiple passengers in your car, you can divide up the snack gifts, if that works better for you.  Those who have participated in this event in the past, know what a wonderful, heartwarming day this is for "We the People" and every law enforcement agency we visit.  I am taking names of Caravan participants now and need to know which route(s) you wish to participate in.  Below are the agencies on each route:

Rt. 113 – Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Millsboro, Georgetown, Troop 4, Probation & Parole, Ellendale

Rt. 1 – Fenwick Island, South Bethany, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Dewey, Rehoboth, Lewis, Troop 7, Milton

Rt. 13 – Delmar/Gumboro, Laurel, Seaford, Bridgeville, Troop 5, Blades, Greenwood

The time for each route will most likely be:  10 am start and finishing around Noon to 12:30.  We do not stop at each agency. Instead, we pick a safe location to pull the Caravan over and honor multiple agencies when possible. These locations will be determined by each corridor coordinator and will be given to each participant in advance. Please call, text or write to me if you have any questions.  Also, please pass the attached flyer on to your contact lists.  This is county-wide this year and we need a really good showing on each route.  Let’s show the men and women in blue how much they are appreciated!
