A Stark Warning and Rallying Cry for Delaware’s Fight Against One-Party Rule in 2026
In a landmark 4-3 decision today, the Virginia Supreme Court struck down Democrats’ unconstitutional attempt to gerrymander their state’s congressional map from a competitive 6-5 Democrat-Republican split to a rigged 10-1 advantage. This victory for constitutional integrity and fair elections directly underscores the urgent battle facing Delaware: we must reject one-party Democrat dominance before it permanently locks in higher taxes, failing schools, and unresponsive government.
Democrats invested $62.5 million — nearly $40 million from Hakeem Jeffries-aligned super PACs — in a flawed referendum that violated Virginia’s Constitution by skipping required legislative steps.
The Court ruled the process “incurably taints” the vote, nullifying the effort despite 1.3 million ballots already cast. President Trump called it a “Huge win for the Republican Party, and America,” while Democrats spiraled into panic, with anonymous lawmakers admitting they must now “pitch a perfect game” to retake the House.
This Virginia defeat resonates powerfully in Delaware. Our state’s single at-large congressional district remains a deep-blue stronghold, but the real power lies in Dover — where Democrat supermajorities in both the House (27-14) and Senate (15-6) enable unchecked one-party rule.
Just as Virginia Democrats tried to rewrite rules for partisan gain, Delaware Democrats have used their veto-proof majorities to advance policies that burden families: soaring property taxes amid reassessment debates, controversial school mergers in New Castle County, and expansive budgets that prioritize special interests over results.
The Parallel is Clear and Urgent:
National Democrat Strategy Exposed: Attempts to rig maps in blue states like Virginia and California to offset GOP gains elsewhere.
Delaware Reality: Supermajority control has produced one of the highest tax burdens relative to services in the Northeast, persistent education challenges, and limited conservative voices in policymaking.
2026 Opportunity: With mid-decade redistricting battles raging nationwide, Delaware Republicans can leverage our state’s small size for maximum impact — flipping key legislative seats to break the supermajority and restore balance.
Delaware Republicans: This is Our Moment to Defy Projections Virginia proves that standing firm on the Constitution stops Democrat overreach. In Delaware, we will build a powerful conservative coalition to do the same. The 2026 midterms are critical: every flipped seat in the General Assembly brings us closer to competitive districts, accountable leadership, and policies that put Delaware families first — lower taxes, school choice, safer streets, and economic growth.

“Virginia’s court victory is a beacon for every conservative in Delaware. One-party Democrat rule ends when we organize, mobilize, and win in 2026. The eyes of the nation are watching — let’s deliver the change Delaware desperately needs.” - Gene Truono
Democrats counted on complacency and procedural tricks. Today’s ruling shows their plans can crumble. In Delaware, we turn this momentum into legislative gains that end the era of unchecked Democrat control.
