Republicans in Sussex File for Relection

The Georgetown Department of Elections Office was busy Wednesday morning as many Republican incumbents stepped up to officially file for the 2026 Elections.
Early in the morning, Sen. Brian Pettyjohn, District 19, Rep. Valerie Jones-Giltner, District 37, and Sussex County Sherriff, Robert Lee worked with the staff at the Department of Elections to complete their filings.

Late morning, Doug Hudson, Sussex County Council President, District 4, and John Rieley, Sussex County Council member, District 5, joined together in completing their filings.

Sussex County leaders gathering to mark the occasion included Daniel Willis, Chairman of the Sussex County Republican Party, Greg Fuller, Register of Willis who has filed for reelection, Jason Dean, RDC for District 35 and Douglas Conaway, who has filed to run for Representative District 41. Also joining the group was current Sussex County Council members, Matt Lloyd, Council District 1 and Steve McCarron, Council District 2.
