Departed Veterans to be Honored Saturday
This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on Saturday, December 13. More than two million volunteers and supporters will gather at more than 5,200 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad, including the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery north of Millsboro. Wreaths Across America began more than 30 years ago when the Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine, had a surplus of wreaths nearing the end of the holiday season. Arrangements were made to transport those wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery, where they were placed on the graves of fallen veterans in the older, less-visited section of the facility. Since then, the event has grown into an international observation each December. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember veterans' sacrifices, honor their service, and teach the next generation to do the same.
To contribute or for more information, visit Wreaths Across America at: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/

From December 1 to February 28, entry fees to all 17 Delaware State Parks are suspended. For more information on what the parks have to offer, use this link: https://www.destateparks.com/
